Tea: 2020 Shoumei from Panxi, Fuding
Origin: Gangtou Village, Panxi, Fuding
Year: 2020
Picking Time: Cold Dew
Characteristics: Sweet, woody aroma, wild flavor
Tasting Notes:
This Cold Dew Shoumei has been aged for 4 years. One characteristic of white tea is that it is like tea in the first year, medicine in the third year, and treasure in the seventh year. Therefore, the longer white tea is stored, the higher its nutritional value. Moreover, this white tea was picked during the Cold Dew solar term. During the Cold Dew solar term, the temperature difference between day and night on the high mountains in Fuding begins to increase. This is what the people in Fuding often call the north wind season. When the north wind season comes, the taste and aroma of the teas are better.
Just by smelling the dry tea, there is a very unique woody aroma and floral-fruit aroma. When drinking, it is sweet and mellow, the tea soup is soft and smooth, with the breath of the wild in autumn and a rock candy sweetness. This tea has a high palatability and can be used as an entry-level white tea. It can be both drunk and stored, with high cost performance.
Brewing Suggestions:
For the first three infusions, you can use boiling water to gently pour along the wall of the gaiwan cup in a clockwise direction and drain the tea soup in 7, 8, and 9 seconds respectively. For the subsequent infusions, you can increase the draining time by 2 - 3 seconds according to your own taste. It is not recommended to let the tea steep for too long.
