Characteristics: This type is made by mixing three raw materials of rock tea from the high mountains of Wu San Di based on the unique floral aroma of Da Hong Pao.

Annotation: Many people may think that Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) is a variety itself. Actually, it is an umbrella term that refers to the unique Oolong teas that from Wuyi mountain and are more currently known as Rock Tea. The Da Hong Pao sold in the market is generally based on raw materials such as Cinnamon Bark (Rou Gui) and Water Sprite (Shui Xian), and high-aroma varieties of Wuyi rock tea such as Yellow Goddess (Huang Guanyin) and Golden Peony (Jin Mudan) which have more intricate aromas. Also, many people may wonder why it is necessary to blend such teas? First of all, Big Red Robe is the local wild tea in Wuyi Mountain. The mother tree of Big Red Robe is prohibited from being picked. Secondly, the purebred Big Red Robe in Wuyi Mountain such as Qidan, a type of wild tea, has a relatively high price in the market. Therefore, a blended Big Red Robe with that represents the traditional "rock bone and floral aroma" (translated from Chinese) is produced. The purpose of blending is to gather from each other's strengths to make the quality of this tea more stable and ensure Big Red Robe honors the traditional taste and style of Wuyi rock tea.

Tasting notes:

The first three infusions have a unique rocky flavor that is both earthy and woody combined with a rich aroma that is both fruity and floral.

The fourth and fifth infusions leave a scent of honey on the lid of the teapot and bottom of the empty cup. At this point, the floral aroma of the tea leaves is similar to that of gardenia and with a hint of sweet peaches.

During the sixth infusion, the tea flavor becomes more watery while retaining the overall rock tea flavor noticed at the beginning.  The dominant flavor and aftertaste now is more sweet.

Gradually, the tea flavor fades and the aroma becomes less fragrant during the seventh and eight infusions.  The tea flavor is now light and smooth; sweet and refreshing.
