Tea: Cinnamon Bark - 40 year old tea
Source: Wuyi Mountain - Wu San Di
Year: 2024
Characteristics: Deeply roasted, caramel, nutty, milky flavor; earthy aroma, cinnamon, floral
Tasting notes:
The leaves are from tree plants that are over forty years old growing naturally and unpruned in the high mountains of the Wu San Di area. The tea is produced using the traditional deep roasting process of rock tea and has an aroma similar to that of dark roasted coffee.
It is somewhat different than most deeply roasted rock teas due to the age of the tea trees and the wild ecological environment surrounding the tea trees, which adds to the balanced flavor and makes you feel as if you can taste the natural setting.
The tasting experience is roughly divided into three sections. The early stage presents a caramel and roasted aroma along with a slight milky and nutty flavor. In the middle stage, there is a unique granular feeling in your mouth as the soil and cinnamon aromas gradually emerge. During the final infusions, the tea brewed is very soft, sweet, and floral.
