Golden Peony is a rare variety of Wuyi Rock Tea. Its tea tree originated from Oolong teas in southern Fujian and is prized for the ability to produce very aromatic teas.

The aroma is similar to a field of flowers in spring noontime, basking in the warm sun, with waves of gardenia aroma mixed with a hint of peony aroma. As the flavors build, it gently activates taste buds in the whole mouth. When brewed for the third and fourth times, a slight bitterness at the first taste will quickly fade and transform into a sweet taste similar to canned fruit.

At the end, the water taste gradually appears but the unique, cold, and calm woody aroma forms a strong contrast with the initial floral flavors. The aftertaste of the floral aroma from the previous infusions are present, but by now it gradually becomes more soft and woody. It is a very unique type of tea.
