Tea: Wintersweet Golden Eyebrow from Wuyishan
Source: Chengdun Village, Wuyishan
Year: 2024
Characteristics: Floral aroma, honey aroma, red date aroma, slightly sweet
Tasting Notes:
This Wintersweet Golden Eyebrow is from Chengdun Village in Xingcun Town, Wuyishan, right next to Tongmu Pass. Although its altitude is slightly lower than that of Tongmu Pass, it is still relatively high overall. The overall ecological environment here is recognized as excellent by locals. The price of Wintersweet Golden Eyebrow from Tongmu Pass is extremely high. Therefore, local people in Wuyishan discovered that using the Wintersweet variety of Wuyi tea to make black tea produces a very good aroma. As a result, Wintersweet Golden Eyebrow has become a representative of Wuyishan Golden Eyebrow
When smelling the dry tea, the honey and floral aromas are rich. When drinking, it has a unique composite aroma of flowers and fruits. On top of the fruit aroma, there is a faint plum blossom aroma. It has a slight sweetness with a honey aroma (the natural taste of the tea leaves is slightly sweet). Overall, the soup texture is slightly thinner than that of Golden Eyebrow produced inside Tongmu Pass, but it offers high cost performance. It is very suitable as a substitute for Golden Eyebrow from Tongmu Pass.
Reference for the number of infusions: Around 7 - 8 infusions
Brewing suggestions:
Use 5 grams of tea leaves and add 95°C boiling water to fill an approximately 120 - milliliter Gaiwan to 80% full. You can pour the boiling water in a fixed point along the edge of the Gaiwan. For the first three infusions, quickly pour in the water and quickly drain it out. After the fourth infusion, you can appropriately extend the steeping time. It is recommended not to let the tea sit in the water for too long and drain the water completely.
